Baznas Bazis Prepares 12 Programs during Ramadhan

The Jakarta Baznas Bazis has prepared 12 programs during Ramadhan 1443 Hijri with the theme 'Ramadhan Semua Jadi Istimewa' (Ramadhan, everything is special).

Hopefully, the programs can provide extraordinary benefits and can help the community

Baznas Bazis Chair Akhmad H. Abubakar said those programs were made to improve services to Jakarta residents, especially those in dire need of assistance.

"Duties and functions of Baznas Bazis Jakarta are to help the Jakarta administration," he expressed, Monday (3/28).

According to him, it was expected to be special for residents, especially the poor and orphans. He also appreciated the muzaki (alms donors in Arabic) who had provided support and assistance for the continuity of the programs.

"We have set aside Rp 29.4 billion. Hopefully, the programs can provide extraordinary benefits and can help the community," he stated.

He went on to say that one of the programs at this event is Free Takjil (light snacks) for All. His party would prepare 18,000 food portions and 625,000 takjil packages to be distributed to residents who cannot break their fast at home. Its distribution was planned to be done for 25 days at strategic points, including bus stops

"The purpose is simple but meaningful. Free Takjil is to make it easier for them to break their fast on the way home," he continued.

Another interesting program was the Ramadhan Compensation in the form of distributing shopping vouchers at designated stalls.

"Don't let anyone feel hungry. This is our focus by targeting 1,000 people eating at the stalls every day," he said.

There was also Ngabuburit at the Difabis shop, which aims to support people with disabilities in developing their economy.

"They do have limitations but they can serve the community well. The point is don't let us leave and forget them. Aspects of their humanity must be considered," he explained.

He also has another program called Duta Imam Muda Tarawih (evening Ramadhan prayer) which was realized in collaboration with the Jakarta administration, Baznas Bazis, and Institute for Al-Qur'an Language and Science (LBIQ). Around 200 young imams would lead tarawih in mosques.
